Glazers Sell Man Utd trending on Twitter

Manchester United's declining share price could lead to members of the Family Glazer get rid of the club after PS600 million was taken off the value of the club in the 2021 and 22.

The latest figures show that the shares of United's have dropped by 23% over the course of this year, the largest drop since the club was admitted to on the New York Stock Exchange back in 2012 - and a financial expert suggests that the Glazers might have been "tempted to cash out" in the event of a similar trend continuing.

The news of Chelsea's imminent PS4.25 billion acquisition making it a market value for the major European club football, there's a belief in United that they'll be able to achieve a similar price even though their value is lower than Chelsea's.

"Manchester United's share price has fallen considerably throughout the season, plummeting 23% in total - wiping $720million (PS572m) in value off their market cap," Saxo Markets sales trader Mike Owens said.

The value of the club has dipped over the last four seasons after United placed second on the Premier League under Jose Mourinho in 2018. their lack of performance (United haven't been a winner of trophies since the year 2017 and have only been in two of the last 5 seasons playing with the Champions League) has contributed to this slump.

However, this could be a positive thing for the United supporters who have been demanding a change of ownership. It's something Owens believes is a realistic possibility, if nothing else happens.

"United's falling share price may make the club a more attractive proposition for a potential new buyer and this could be the catalyst to see a change of ownership at the club in the next couple of years if current owners, the Glazer family, are tempted to cash out," said the official.

There is no doubt that a lot of United supporters feel that the Glazers have cast an unwelcome image on Old Trafford for the past 17 years. After Sir Alex Ferguson's departure in 2013 the club has not had an clear direction, and it has also incurred debt.

In addition the fact that fans consider to be the emphasis on profits for corporations over the success of their teams has made them into one of the most hated owner's in this country as evident in recent protests within and outside Old Trafford.
